Separately, INAC's executive-order drone ban (in force since 18 August 2025, extended into 2026) prohibits all civilian drone purchase, import, registration and flight; violators face confiscation, arrest and criminal prosecution, with no exemption for visitors. The US Embassy in Caracas has been closed since 2019, so no US consular emergency assistance is available on the ground.
